Choreography
The work Anuska makes as a choreographer explores contemporary dance, improvisation and theatre techniques, which she likes to combine with other dance forms. The dance movement language is influenced by her dance background and experience and it grows from everyday movements and situations, observing the world we are living in.
She is interested in people, and in their own peculiarities and idiosyncracies, life´s experiences, social issues and relationships. In her work she blurs boundaries between reality and fiction, drama and humour, the dream world and our endless imagination.
Anuska enjoys the engagement her work has with the audience, integrating human expression and interaction to present dance as an integral part of our contemporary life. Accessible but imaginative, the work combines physicality with humour and strong emotions, proving that dance has the power to speak and connect with a large number of people and approach audiences.
Her work has been shown at Independent Dance, Siobhan Davies Studios, Artsdepot, The Place Resolution!, London Science Museum and Lilian Baylis Studios among others. She likes to create work in open spaces, for community settings and experiment with video.
